Flexible AMOLED

Samsung has said in an official statement that at this years CES they are going to exhibit the Flexible AMOLED display. The new samsung display is said to have plastic substrates instead of glass substrates so it will not be prone to breaking much more to the relief of the manufacturers.
Using the plastic substrates makes it much more lighter and thinner.

This new 4.5 inch will be smartphones as well as tablets. After the showcase and all is over, this thing will be up for mass production. For now this device is still in the development stage. The display is WVGA which is 800 x 480 resolution.

100$ Android Phones

Broadcom has introduced a new chipset, BCM2157. This chipset provides the major guts required to build an Android-based 3G phone: a dual core ARM processor, GPS and Bluetooth, plus support for Wifi hot spots, Android 2.2 and up, a 5 MP camera and both HVGA and WQVGA screens.

And the real part is according to Jim Tran from Broadcom, the price will reduce to about 100$, that too without a contract. That is seriously something to look out for. And they have said that the chipset will be out by first quarter of 2011. And also during next year they will develop a chipset that will reduce deliver todays high end smartphone features at about 75$-100$.

We cannot expect this much price drops but there will be some serious drops by next year on both manufacturers and service providers. This will drive the android smartphone market even further.

And also it will put on some serious pressure on the Iphone market. One thing is certain, if this happens the Iphone should learn to reduce it's price to stay aright in the current android uprising.

Nokia Rumour

Nokia is now run by former microsoft Executive, Stephen Elop. And so it has been rumoured that nokia might run for windows phone 7 platform over the emerging google Android. Android is certainly going to be next years smartphone. There is no doubt about that, considering that at the end of 2010 it is running faster than any smartphone platform. But Stephen Elop might just be more comfortable with the Microsoft product and may opt for that.

But the better route for nokia might be to join forces with Android. Nokia has for many years been trying to create it's own mobile platform, but little improved in that direction.

Microsoft's platform is certainly a good one. And it is not sure whether it will help Nokia. Currently Nokia is staying out of the Android Bandwagon. Hope something good happens to the world leader in Smartphone market.

Microsoft Kinect opens up

Microsoft Kinect is Microsoft's controller free gaming and entertainment experienced. I think most of you must have watched the movie Iron Man. Like in that movie Kinect enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller, through a natural user interface using gestures and spoken commands. This may later be supported in Windows 8.

And now this revolutionary Kinect has been opened up or precisely saying hacked. Drivers for Kinect to be used in other platforms supplying open source software has been developed within just hours after it's release. At Microsoft threatened with legal action. Because of two main reasons. One, the Microsoft's lawyers understood that it is not a good idea to take legal action because of the fact that the hardware was not altered. The second thing is that this might turn out to be a goldmine for them.

This opens up a whole new level of possibilities. Developers are coming up with loads of ideas and its gonna be one heck of possibilities. Now brace in for the next generation gaming and entertainment experience.

Panasonic 3-D camrecorder

Hello there Panasonic has now debuted themselves with the first 3-D consumer camrecorder, HDC-SDT750. Besides the thing that this beauty can record videos in full HD format, it is provided with an image splitting lens for capturing images or motions in 3-D manner. It's actually a 2-D camera, but when fitted with the lens it functions on whole new level to provider us 3-D entertainment.

"As a result of research conducted through Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory, Panasonic developed a professional 3D system camera and successfully brought high-quality Full HD 3D images to the home for viewing on Panasonic VIERA Full HD 3D televisions. But now, Panasonic has taken it one step further and developed the world's first consumer 3D camcorder, the HDC-SDT750 รข€“ creating a 3D ecosystem available for consumers in the home," said Chris Rice, Senior Product Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. "Incorporating Panasonic's professional broadcast technology and bringing it to an easy-to-use consumer model, the SDT750 makes high-quality 3D video content a reality in the home."

The Panasonic SDT750 features a Time Lapse Recording feature, which plays a scene such as a sunset or a blooming flower at an accelerated speed, similar to a fast-forward. By setting the recording interval to 1 second, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute or 2 minutes, the user can view an otherwise long recording in a reduced time period. For example, when a scene is recorded at the 1-second interval setting, a 10-minute sunset scene can be played back in approximately 10 seconds, making the slow change in the subject appear as if it were taking place in a very short time. This interval recording feature is also available when the 3D conversion lens is attached to the SDT750.

Panasonic offers a 5.1 channel recording with 5 microphones.
The high-sensitivity 3MOS System has 7.59 million effective motion image pixels (2.53 mega pixels x 3), so this advanced image sensor separates the light received through the lens into the three primary colors red, green and blue and processes each color independently. As a result, the Panasonic SDT750 produces beautiful images with rich color quality, detail and gradation. Adding to the quality, the SDT750 also features a large-diameter (46mm) F1.5*3 Leica Dicomar lens and Crystal Engine PRO, a high-speed processing unit both components which contribute to the effectiveness of the camcorder's light gathering, increased sensitivity, and reduced noise when shooting, even in dim lighting.

The users can playback the recorded 3D videos in 3D capable televisions, by connecting using HDMI cables.it is also possible to play 3D images recorded on SD Memory Cards by using an AVCHD compatible players.he SDT750 comes with HD Writer AE 2.6T PC editing software, which allows users to easily edit recorded 3D images, and save them onto PCs or Blu-ray/DVD discs.
HD Writer AE 2.6T features a "Smart Wizard" that starts as soon as the SDT750 is connected to the USB port of the computer, which gives simple on-screen guidance. HD Writer AE 2.6T also enables easy uploading and sharing online without the need for any cumbersome processes, so that even an inexperienced user can post video clips on the web. When uploading 3D images from a PC onto the web, they must first be converted into 2D images.

Besides these there are several other features in it. This thing will cost you around 1200$.
But it it's worth the money.

Nokia 5230 review

I know that this sounds a bit old. There must a thousand of nokia 5230 reviews. But consider this one unique in its own right.

Nokia 5230 is a touch phone very popular due to its affordability. In india it is priced at nearly Rs 7200/-. Trust me, it is worth it. The phone is highly efficient in terms of value for money. In the interval I used it I found virtually no fault with it.
It is a nokia S60 V5 device. It has ovi maps, ovi music, ovi app store and much more.
The one thing that seperates it apart from other phones is the Symbian operating system. For example take a look at the samsung corby pro. From a user's point of view it has a disgusting user inerface. Don't take it for granted that higher prices will give you good quality software. Considering that, the nokia symbian interface is stylish. I would say there is a simplicity which gives them stylishness.
The other things so good about the nokia 5230 is that it has a lot of apps. Thousands of them. Thanks to the universal popularity of symbian. The touch screen interface is just so cool and so fast that frankly it is great. Trust me it is super fast even with tons of apps installed in it and transition effects applied.

So if you plan to buy one then just go ahead. This one is just simply awesome. Do never delay.

If you want a better and much more descriptive review then just let me know.

Good Luck
