Apple's new technology called Thunderbolt

Apple has been planning to introduce a high speed connectivity technology, the lightpeak, which is to be called by Apple as the thunderbolt. An alleged picture of a 13inch Macbook pro hardware and the specifications show the introduction of not only hardware but also an input for a SDXC card. The specifics also suggests that the processor will not be accompanied by a discrete graphics card. You have to cope with the Intel onboard graphics.

The specifications are

-2.3GHz Core i5 Processor
-4 GB DDR3 @ 1333 MHz
-320 GB HDD
-13.3-inch display @ 1280x800 pixels
-Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 384 MB shared memory
-FaceTime high-definition camera
-Thunderbolt connector supporting High-Speed-E/A and MiniDisplay-Port devices
-SDXC, Firewire 800, and two USB 2.0 slots
-Backlit keyboard
-2.04kg weight

fsckblog as well Apple insider alleged to have received the leaked pics shown here at the same time. Apple is expected to release the new Macbook pros on Thursday and also is expected to hold a press meeting to introduce the light peak technology. Apple Macbook pros are also expected to enhance the laptops other than the jump to Intel's sandy bridge CPU's.

It is most likely that Apple will give the lightpeak technology it's own unique implementation and unique logo. And this will make the rumors srong about Ipad getting a new port is not just a video out.
